Track Rascals
Age: 5 - 8

The track rascal program is a Run Jump Throw Wheel(RJTW) non-competitive program for those athletes between the ages of 6 – 8 who would like to try track and field for the first time and want a fun recreational experience. Developed by Athletics Canada, RJTW is the grassroots development program for our sport. This FUNdamentals program teaches the skills of running, jumping and throwing and the technical skill progressions for track and field events.
Track & Field: Junior Development (JD)
Age: 9 - 13
Registration Opens: January
Season runs: April - June/July
Track and field at this age (9-13) is mainly a power and speed sport with a wide variety of events to choose from.
The Junior Development (JD) program will help athletes develop the fundamental movements and coordination required in running, jumping and throwing.
Coaches structure their lesson plans to promote progression technically in all events through repetition and reinforcement with the intention of producing multi-skilled, well-rounded athletes as they enter their high school careers.
Competition: There is a series of sanctioned of junior development track meets (ages 9-13) throughout May, June and July that allow athletes of all levels to compete. Athletes are encouraged to choose at least one run, jump and throw event to compete in at meets attended. Competing in meets is not mandatory but highly recommended as a way to develop comfort with performing in a competitive environment. Coaching will focus on performance improvement and athletes will receive instruction from both junior and senior coaches.
Cross Country: JD

Cross country (XC) is an endurance sport. Athletes will be developing their capacity to run further distances. This program is for athletes who are becoming more focused on pursuing endurance running as opposed to speed / power activities.
Track & Field: High School / Open
Age: 14 -23
Registration Openings: August, December, March, June
Season runs: Sept - July
Season intakes: September, January, March, June
Our High School group is designed for athletes aged 14 – 23. This group will prepare athletes to excel at the regional, provincial, and national level. The High School Group season runs September to July. They will be expected to train 3-5 days a week depending on which phase of training the athlete is in and the goals they have.
During this time athletes may compete in 1 or 2 indoor meets in Washington or Richmond. These competitions will be considered for practice and experience purposes only. In the early spring the coaches will be focused on very specific and individual workouts and getting early competition experience. The main competitive season begins in April and continues through the school meets and then the main club meets, culminating with club championships in July.
