This past weekend the Mustangs saw 5 athletes compete at the National Midget/Youth championships with success as all reached the podium!!! Here are the athletes below and their accomplishments:
Megan Champoux competed in her last Youth Championships on top winning gold in the 400m hurdles, in a meet record time of 1:00.27! Additionally she won a bronze medal as part of the Youth Women’s 4 x 400m relay and made the final in the 100mh.
Ian Vandergugten brought home 2 medals, winning silver in the midget boys 100mH in 14.23s and bronze in the midget men’s 4 x 100m relay.
Natalia Monro won gold in the LJ with a jump of 5.42 surpassing her closest competitor by over 20cm! She also made the final in both the 80mh and 200mh.
Rory Denness competed in the Midget women’s Javelin, where she took gold with a throw of 40.29m
Eniko Sara won the Silver medal in High Jump jumping 1.64m and made the final in javelin.
We would like to extend congratulations to all the Mustangs of 2015/16 from all coaches and executive members of the Mustangs. This has been one of the most successful seasons in club history! We look forward to what the future has in store for next season!
