Georgia Ellenwood knows how to show up when it counts.
The University of Wisconsin junior posted personal records in three events en route to a fourth-place finish in the pentathlon at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday in Birmingham, Alabama.
It’s the second straight All-America showing for Ellenwood, who tallied 4,390 points, just two shy of the school record she set two weeks ago at the Big Ten Conference meet. It also marked the seventh straight year UW has had a pentathlon All-American.
“It was a fantastic effort, finishing fourth at the national championship,” UW coach. “Every year at this championship, the bar’s been raised. It’s just incredible. Any time you come out the national meet in fourth place and you’re an All-American, it’s a great job.”
Ellenwood set PRs in the 60-meter hurdles, shot put and long jump.
Georgia’s Kendell Williams won the event with 4,703 points.
