Ellenwood missed out on a conference title in the indoor pentathlon by a point, falling short 4,393-4,392 to Minnesota senior Jess Lehman at the Big Ten meet on Friday in Geneva, Ohio. Ellenwood broke the UW school record in the process, and both contenders eclipsed Lehman's Big Ten record in the pentathlon.
“I’m happy about breaking the record and everything, but it’s a little disappointing,” Ellenwood said. “One point is so close, but I’m happy about that.”
Aided by a victory from senior Kelsey Card in the shot put, the Badgers are in fourth place with 22 points after the first day of the two-day competition.
